Privacy policy
This page describes which personal data is processed when you visit stagnell.se and stagnell.com, write to me or subscribe to the newsletter, and what rights you have.
Data controller
Alexander Stagnell is the controller for this website. Questions about personal data can be sent to alexander@stagnell.se.
The contact form
When you write through the contact form, your name, email address, any organisation and your message are processed so that I can reply. The legal basis is the legitimate interest, yours and mine, in being able to correspond. The message is sent to me by email and kept in my inbox for as long as the matter requires, and at most two years after our contact has ended.
The newsletter
If you subscribe to The Ambassador’s Letter, your email address and language preference are processed to send you the newsletter. The legal basis is your consent, which you confirm through a link in an email. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every issue, and your address is then removed from the list.
The newsletter is sent with Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., USA). The transfer to the United States relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Analytics and cookies
The website uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used, for example which pages are read. This only happens if you consent in the cookie banner. The data is kept for at most 14 months. You can change your choice at any time under Cookie settings at the bottom of the page.
Necessary cookies, such as the one that remembers your choice in the cookie banner, are used without consent. The fonts are loaded from the website’s own server, so no data is sent to Google Fonts.

- Hosting and email: Simply.com (Denmark, EU)
- Newsletter: Mailchimp (USA, see above)
- Analytics: Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd., with possible transfer to the USA under the Data Privacy Framework)
Your rights
You have the right to know which data about you is processed, to have incorrect data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data (data portability) and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to alexander@stagnell.se.
If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se, or with the data protection authority where you live.
